Well, have at it...
I've quite stupidly decided that I want to apply for jobs. I want to be one of the underpaid, unappreciated, unloved. That is, a postdoc. My first application deadline is this Sunday, and I haven't yet got myself a statement of research interests, which is apparently a Big Deal.
But after most of a week of suffering, I present to you my CV. All feedback and job offers are gladly appreciated.

That seems a quite impressive academic CV!! Not sure if applying for postdoc jobs is the same than applying for more mundane jobs.
Anyway perhaps I'd try to push a bit more your work experience, you might join the professional and university service in one section. I think I'd try to have a sentence or two about the uniqueness and achievements of your phD research.
You know, the point is to sell yourself as the best person in the world, no matter if you know what you're talking about or not :-)
Academic jobs are a bit different. For one thing, there's the lead time. I'm applying for jobs that won't start until September or so (although the Australian ones will likely be available from the time I submit my thesis).
The professional and uni service sections are rather sparse and could be combined at this point, but in future if I follow this path they'll become more distinct, with pro service being stuff I do for astronomy as a whole (refereeing papers, assessing theses) and the uni one being stuff I have done for individual institutes (like work the open days).
My list of research interests is where I get to sell how awesome my PhD is and why I rock the house. Which is why it's not really mentioned much here. Academics are a weird bunch, I'm not quite sure I get how they work, but I know it's very different from the corporate world. :)
