   Pain...

Today I finally found out just how much pain it takes before I curl up under my desk and whimper softly to myself while my ever-devoted James finds me a doctor and my officemates look on, concerned. It's a lot of pain and apparently just a side-effect of the infection I picked up last week, although a part of me still wonders if my kidneys are somehow giving up and moving on to a better place.

As a result I didn't meet my self-imposed deadline for getting my code working, although I did achieve several of my other tasks today. I even managed to smile and have fun at this afternoon's photoshoot once the codeine kicked in. Speaking of which, my pain sensors are just starting to twitch again, so I might have another tablet before I fall asleep.

Goodnight world, I'll see you in the morning.

How stupid do these people think I am?...

So I'm doing assignment marking for the maths department this semester, since I need some extra money to pay all my sightseeing over the next few months. And for the most part, it's pretty fun. I get to work at home, and watch tv as I do it, and generally have fun. After ten assignments, I have the solutions memorised enough that I can do the rest without constantly checking the cheat sheet (which has a few errors in it).

And all would be good, but for the fact that the students think I'm an idiot. They have to sign a declaration on the front saying that plagiarism, for the purpose of this assignment, is considered to be the act of "copying or summarising another person's work, or, where there was collaborative preparatory work, submitting substantially the same final version of any material as another student".

That is to say, if you submit the exact same solutions, with the exact same errors, on the same unique blue paper, as the student before you, I am going to get really ticked off. Enough that I really want to just give you 0 and let you deal. Or possibly dob you in and get you failed in this course. Especially as you have signed a binding declaration saying that you "have written the solutions independently."

Grr!
