Essay II...You see, I had everything nicely planned. I'd get this stupid essay done on time, get on with my other assignments, and tomorrow I'd get to go to the movies as a reward for my hard work.
Well, it's now not too long before the deadline before this stupid thing is due in, I've got an almost-completed essay, but I'm still 2,000 words short of the upper word limit. I'm kinda hoping that no one will mind too much. I have several more days before the final thing is due in, surely I can get it up to scratch by then. Right?
*cries*
I think it's time for bed.
Catherine out.

Essay...Words,
How swiftly they flee before me.
Thoughts,
Fluttering like butterflies they disappear.
How easy it sounds in theory.
A few pages, nothing more.
A chance to express all that I have learned
Over several months of my brief existence.
And yet, here I sit.
Starring at a black screen,
My fingers poised and awaiting
The first word.
A brief flash,
Surely that was an idea.
But no,
As I start to form a sentence it flies away.
Inhibited by my fear,
I seemed destined to fail.
An empty husk alone in the dark,
Trying to write an essay.

I have a question...Why is it that our instinctive response to someone having said, "You've put on a lot of weight recently", is to want to curl up somewhere with a lump of chocolate and eat away our problems?
*shrugs*
If anyone can give me an answer, I'd be glad to hear it.
Anyway, happy easter guys.

Don't say I never post...I just very rarely post these days. 'Course, my days are filled with assignments, and my nights with fortran, and sometimes I even manage to find a few hours in which to sleep.
My office is starting to look much more friendly. I bought a bunch of posters at supanova on the weekend, and when Heidi and James put them up it brought much colour and excitement to the cream walls. This is fast becoming a place where I wouldn't object to spending a few hours.
Add to that the fact that I did get for myself one of those coca-cola "portable cd players" for the low, low price of $35 plus 15 labels, and now I even have noise to listen to. I'd prefer it to be loud and echoing in the space, rather than being pumped through the earphones, but we can't have everything, and I don't think Lesa would much like my normal style of music.
Speaking of which, am currently listening to "Sweet Holiday in Lombok", by Lee Soo Young, which James' best friend, James Crisp brought back from his summer trip to Korea. Very nice music, although the backstreet boys-style song in the middle is a little odd compared to the rest of the album.
Anyway, back to work...
