Scary Stuff Going Down...It's funny, but in all the time I've not been writing in this blog, I've actually realised something: I'm becomming more prone to keeping everything bottled up inside again. Not just the stuff that I'd be ranting about, but normal everyday stuff as well. Just not talking as much as I used to. Course, I have been miserably depressed lately, and that isn't exactly conducive to conversation, but anyway...
I did actually have something to talk about in this post, which is to tell the story of what is currently going on in my world, just in case something should happen. Hence the title at the top there. And this is my story.
Right, so I was calmly eating my dinner, having gotten home late from the powerhouse and having to deal with being stuffed and having sore feet. When all of a sudden, there are what seems like hundreds of police sirens to be heard screaming down the road adjacent to mine (I live four houses from the corner of buist st). So, being dared/encouraged by my mother, I went outside, and saw no less than eight police cars and wagons, all with lights flashing and sirens blaring, coming up to the main corner of buist and rose streets, and tearing around it without even braking (insane considering the nature of the corner).
Without even stopping to consider what I was watching, I was suddenly back inside the house, slamming the front door and deciding that it was a good night to sit on the floor in my room where no one can see me through the big windows which I'd inconveniently left the blinds open on. I mean, around here, even though we have a high crime rate, it takes something fairly big for two police cars to come out to a crime. And yet it seemed from that glance that every police officer in the district was being called out.
And what was worse was that the sirens quite suddenly stopped, not too long after they passed my house.
So, we're all pretty freaked out here, and then, about half an hour after the initial commotion, my brother and sister returned from wherever they had been all night, and they tell us that Ferrier Rd is all blocked off and that they could see at least 20 police cars and many officers crowding the street. And this is on a rise, where they wouldn't be able to see more than 80 metres down said blocked off street.
For reference, I made up this map for you guys to see just how close it is to me. I live closer to the corner than the "start" box would imply, and the police blocked off Ferrier Rd from Rose St, rather than where the "end" box is. According to my rough calculations, that puts all this excitement at no more than 600m from my house.
Anyway, here's that map:

More updates to come as I uncover details. Until then, I'll be hiding under my desk.
