Flashback to Tuesday...
Okay, so I had this great plan for today.
Go to optometrist in the morning to have my contact lenses put in. Go to uni, hand in assignment, and pick up my preordered copy of SW2DVD. Then head over to James' house, watch said DVD, then back to the optometrist for removal of new contact lenses and lessons in how to put them on and off myself.
However, fate conspired against me. I went to BigW, saw the DVD right there on the shelf in the store, and grinned. I was in luck. So I went to the counter, handed over my preorder ticket and said "can I get my special yoda box now?" She looked at me and said, "the preorder boxes haven't come in yet. You'll have to come back later this afternoon or tomorrow."
So, let me get this straight: anyone can walk in off the street and buy a DVD, but because I ordered mine in advance I have to wait a few more hours/days???? *screams*
Not fair!!!!!!!!!!!

Present Day... Present Time...
Okay, so I have time today to trek back over to big w and pick up my DVD. Amazingly enough, they still have copies on shelf, but that's not what I'm interested in.
I go up to the counter, and hand over my preorder ticket. The guy looks apologetic immediately, and it's all I can do not to burst into tears before he says anything. He gets down on his knees to pick me up a set-aside copy of the DVD, and the girl also working the counter speaks.
"I'm sorry, the special preorder boxes were only meant to be for the Coles-Myer chain. The rep left the tickets here by mistake. We still have the cheepest prices though."
Somehow I manage to resist the urge to scream at her that the only reason why I preordered it was so I could get the Yoda box. I didn't care about the price. But then, the guy pops up, DVD in hand, as if he's just remembered something.
"Actually, as a peace gesture the rep has offered to bring us round enough of the special boxes to satisfy the preorders we took. You'll have to come in on friday though."
Wait, I have to make one more trip to the Macquarie Center (2 hours from my house) if I want to get my DVD as I ordered it? I sighed.
"Will you still have them left on tuesday?" I ask, knowing that I couldn't disrupt my study further by taking another day off to go pick up the DVD.
"I'll set one aside for you."
"I'd appreciate that", I said in my best, 'I'm pissed but you're being nice' voice.
