Who is the girl I see in your eyes?
The one so beautiful, the one you hold so dear?
She is petite of form and figure,
With long hair spun of forests and sunlight.
Face so expressive and full of feeling,
Her blue eyes shine so brightly with every emotion.
Skin soft to touch and wonderfully pure,
And her heart lifts with joy when you look at her.
No girl is as perfect as the one in your eyes.
They all have real faults, no one is that pure.
But maybe you chose to ignore her flaws,
Could it be that you see them as less than she does?
The insecurities that keep her awake,
Do you believe that they are not that significant?
I cannot understand what you see in her,
What is it about her that makes your eyes shine?
Who is the girl I see in your eyes?
What do you see when you look at her like that?
Do you see the potential that she cannot,
Are her dreams and desires real in your gaze?
Can any person treasure another so much,
Do you really feel so strongly about all that she is?
But I am too frightened to admit my hope,
That the girl I can see in your eyes, is me.
