For as long as I can remember,
You have been my friend.
Suffering similar circumstances,
You stopped looking after yourself
Long enough to see that I needed your help.
I never really apreciated it,
Accepting you'd always be there.
Looking out for me,
Protecting me,
Being my one true friend.
You have always stood by me,
And taught me to stand on my own.
You let me make my own mistakes,
But were there to stop my falls.
And now our lives have changed somewhat,
I now can watch out for you.
With my friends' help and my own new-found strength,
Ken,
I will always protect you.
