Sailor Coruscant

Heart of Glass

A long time ago I was given a gift,
Wrapped up tight in layers of cloth.
I put it away to keep it safe,
It was my treasure for when I was older.

When my friends came to visit I showed them,
Let them play with my most precious gift.
But they were never too careful,
And the wrappings soon became torn.

After a time I grew cautious,
Hid my gift in a place no one knew.
The layers of cloth frayed and tattered,
Until only my crystal remained.

I sat on the floor as I held it,
Cradled the sphere of glass in my hands.
Wondering how to protect it,
Lest it shattered beyond all repair.

And now, do I dare trust another?
Look within, it will show you my dreams.
Hold out your hands and be gentle,
Else you might break my heart once again.
