Dancing in the darkness,
The shadows from my dreams;
Locked away forever,
The darkness never sleeps.
Hiding, ever-watching,
Waiting 'til I fall.
Wanting me to join with it,
The fate I can't ignore.
My every waking moment,
Trying desperately to fight.
In day's light all seems simple,
But after day, the night.
The shadows are more clear now,
They seem to have substance.
Are they really watching me?
Can I break free of their glance?
Show me how to beat them,
Teach me to be brave.
When each of these shades bears my face,
Can I ever escape myself?
